The City of Cape Town has announced payment and provider changes for traffic fines as of 1 July 2022. Here’s how to pay your traffic fines online or via retail outlets.

Expiration of contracts between city and third-party service providers are coming to an end on 30 June 2022. As of 1 July 2022 paying traffic fine(s) via the following payment options will no longer be available:

Take note that during the phase-in process that some traffic fine notices may still reflect the above listed payment options as available. The City is working on expanding third-party service providers, everyone should make use of new options that are available instead of the above listed options that will expire.

New payment options will include the following:

You will find a QR code on the fine(s) (electronic and paper). These QR codes can be used to pay via:

  • Masterpass (use banking apps; FNB, Absa, Nedbank and Capitec)
  • Snapscan
  • Zapper

You can also pay online via https://www.paymyfines.co.za/ (including warrant payments)

You can pay your fine(s) at the following shopping stores:

  • Shoprite
  • Checkers
  • Selected Spar outlets

These new payment options through these different platforms aim to expand the city’s offering for payment of fines, in hopes to benefit customers with additional options. For more information please visit the City’s website at www.capetown.gov.za
